Faculty Position on Meet and Confer

The Advisory Council of Faculty supports the legislative mandate and mission charged to the organization, that the ACF

•serve as a resource to the legislature on the essential role of faculty in the economic growth and well-being of the state;
•provide advice to the legislature in the development of State code which pertains to higher education;
•provide advice to the Higher Education Policy Commission and the Community and Technical College Council in the development of policies pertaining to higher education;
•report to and advise local boards of governors and faculty constituents on issues pertaining to higher education.

Whereas ACF representatives are elected by institutional faculties, whereas faculty issues are vetted and voted on by faculty senates, and whereas faculty representatives are most familiar with the range of issues that impact students, faculty, and higher education in the state of West Virginia, faculty accept the premise that the Advisory Council of Faculty provides the voice for higher education faculty in the State of West Virginia.
